Before you invest in training towards a career as a pilot, how can you be sure that flying an aeroplane is right for you? This course is designed to help you answer that question.
The SFC Flight Training Experience Package is designed to give you insight into the flight training syllabus, and is also a requirement for candidates wishing to apply for AVI50215 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence - Aeroplane) who do not have 5 logbook hours at the time of application.
Your ground briefings are usually timed to occur just before the flight lesson for that subject, so that the information is fresh. You don't need to bring anything with you for these briefings other than pen, paper, and an inquisitive mind!
During the ground briefings you will be provided with training material which will assist your learning.
The flying sessions of the Flight Training Experience Package involve three separate sessions, and are designed to take you through the first few flights of a basic aeroplane flying syllabus.
The first flight will cover use of the main control mechanisms in the aircraft, with a particular emphasis on how to keep the aircraft flying in a straight line, at the same altitude.
The second lesson will expand on your knowledge and introduce how to make the aircraft climb & descend, and turn efficiently.
Finally, the third flight lesson will put all of these skills together by introducing the circuit patten at Bankstown, where you will start to learn the process of takeoff and landing.
Please wear casual, comfortable clothing with enclosed shoes. Sunglasses are recommended, and you are welcome to bring a camera.
If the weather is unsuitable for the flight, you will be contacted as soon as possible to reschedule the flight.
