In partnership with a variety of third parties, SFC offer numerous scholarships to individuals who may need a helping-hand into a career as a pilot

The Matt Hall Flight Training Scholarship

Open to all, the objectives of this scholarship are to (i) encourage young people to consider a career as a pilot and (ii) to improve the affordability of training towards this career goal.

Matt Hall is a third generation pilot, a former RAAF Fighter Combat (Top Gun) instructor, international unlimited aerobatic competitor and the 2019 Red Bull Air Race World Champion.

Schofields Flying Club Ltd (“SFC”) is one of the largest flying clubs in New South Wales. The club has had a proud history of flying operations over 50 years, with flight training as one of its core propositions.

Matt Hall acts as the ambassador for SFC and in this role aims to (i) inspire young people to consider a career in aviation and (ii) encourage good airmanship and a safety culture among SFC’s students and members. To celebrate this partnership the Matt Hall Flight Training Scholarship has been created.

This scholarship will offer the recipient the ability to gain a commercial pilot licence with no out-of-pocket flight training expenses during the course.

The SFC Women Pilot Scholarship

The objectives of this scholarship are to (i) encourage more women to consider a career as a pilot and (ii) to improve the affordability of training towards this career goal.

Application form

The aim of the Australian Women Pilots’ Association (AWPA) is to foster closer relationships and unity among women pilots, to assist women to undertake flying in Australia and elsewhere, and to develop public interest in aviation, especially among women generally to assist in the development of aviation. The Association awards scholarships annually to members and non-members.

Schofields Flying Club Ltd (“SFC”) is one of the largest flying clubs in New South Wales. The club has had a proud history of flying operations over 50 years, with flight training as one of its core propositions.

SFC wish to improve our commitment to the attraction, recruitment and retention of women pilots, and this begins with the attraction of female students to our Commercial Pilot Licence training courses.

With this outcome in mind SFC has partnered with AWPA to create The SFC Women Pilot Scholarship.

This scholarship will offer the recipient the ability to gain a commercial pilot licence with no out-of-pocket flight training expenses during the course.

The SFC Indigenous Flight Training Scholarship

The objectives of this scholarship are to (i) encourage Indigenous persons to consider a career as a pilot and (ii) to improve the affordability of training towards this career goal.

Schofields Flying Club Ltd (“SFC”) is one of the largest flying clubs in New South Wales. The club has had a proud history of flying operations over 50 years, with flight training as one of its core propositions.

SFC wish to improve our commitment to the attraction, recruitment and retention of Indigenous Australians, and this begins with the attraction of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to our Commercial Pilot Licence training courses.

With this outcome in mind, SFC has created The SFC Indigenous Flight Training Scholarship.

This scholarship will offer the recipient the ability to gain a commercial pilot licence with no out-of-pocket flight training expenses during the course.
