On average, just 5% of pilots are women, and it’s not because they don’t like it. Women of all backgrounds often set their eyes to skies, but there’s a barrier in being such a small percentage, so we’ve set out to empower them.

At SFC, we know we need somewhere to start – 25 by 25. That means 25% women pilots at SFC by the year 2025. 25 by 25 is our vision to break down barriers by empowering more women than ever to become successful pilots. This initiative is more than just a numbers game – it’s our mission to create a space where aspiring female pilots can dream without limits.

25by25 is ultimately bridging the gender gap by breaking the ideology that ‘pilot’ has a gender associated with it. By educating young kids and empowering them ALL with stories of support and encouragement, we will grow our female percentages, but more importantly, gain more fellow aviators to the aviation industry as a whole and start to make progress in bridging that gap.

SFC has backed this vision with real and accessible support throughout each student’s journey. From our school-focused Aviation Experience Days and regional roadshows, our personalised meet and greets, to our career-enabling industry networks and support groups, we’re committed to a seamless system of success that makes dreams come true for all.

By utilising our connections with Flightdeck Consulting, the Australian Women Pilots’ Association (AWPA), Empowering and Enabling the Women of Western Sydney Program and Women in Aviation International - Australian Chapter, there is no shortage of support at any stage of a flying career. We’ve also partnered with AWPA for our female scholarships, all to maximise success for women pilots!

We complement this by increasing awareness with media exposure, social media engagement, and by connecting with industry to build support across Australia’s aviation industry.
