Prepare for a professional flying career while experiencing student life in Australia

Why international students choose SFC.
SFC is one of the largest flying organisations in Australia. We started our journey in 1969 and our passion, experience and high-level training has driven 55+ years of graduates to carve successful careers at major Australian and international airlines.
In 55+ years of operation, we’ve maintained an unblemished safety record - a reflection of our strong Just Safety Culture.
As a CASA-approved flight training organisation, SFC trains to Australia’s rigorous aviation standards, producing pilots well prepared for careers with airlines around the world.
Train in next-generation Piper Archer and Seminole aircraft and advanced simulators, with modern glass cockpits preparing you for the professional flight deck.
Train with a dedicated runway, ATC tower and parking for over 40 aircraft, all within a former Royal Australian Air Force base.
Live and study on campus, with secure swipe access and monitored security. Each room is built for comfort and privacy, with a custom study desk and private ensuite.
Tamworth’s climate offers over 330 good flying days each year, giving you more opportunities to get in the air.
International Pilot Package
SFC’s International Pilot Package offers a comprehensive training program for aspiring aviators. Earn three qualifications in just 21 months and develop the essential skills to pursue a professional career in aviation.

(Commercial Pilot Licence - Aeroplane)
The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) Diploma of Aviation (AVI50222) is the required licence for those who want to work as a pilot in the aviation industry, (domestic, international airlines and charter companies).

(Instrument Rating)
Includes Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR)
The Multi-Engine Instrument Rating is considered the peak of professional qualifications for commercial pilots. The MEIR allows pilots to fly in full Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) at all phases of the flight, at all times.

Endorsed and delivered in conjunction with Matt Hall Racing
The Upset Prevention Recovery Training rating is an extra safety component that enables pilots to always be prepared for the unexpected. This training equips pilots with the skills needed to effectively react to and manage abnormal situations.
