WHAT IS THIS COURSE ABOUT?

Ready to fulfil
your dream?

This comprehensive Double Diploma combines SFC's AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation(Commercial Pilot Licence - Aeroplane) and AVI50519 - Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating).

The Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is the minimum requirement to earn a living as a pilot in Australia. You'll start your training learning the fundamentals of flight in single engine aeroplanes such as the Piper Warrior, before progressing towards larger and more complex aircraft culminating in your CPL flight test being performed in the legendary Cessna 182T Skylane. We'll arm you with all the non-technical and technical skills required to work in the industry as a professional pilot. No previous knowledge is required!

Once you have obtained your Commercial Pilot Licence, it's time to level up and excel.

The Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MECIR) is a critical rating for success as a commercial pilot. This rating allows you to operate in poor visibility and cloudy conditions safely and conduct a variety of instrument approaches – these conditions are otherwise known as Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC). The rating also opens up the world of flying at night, enjoy smooth air and views few get to experience. As part of the MECIR you will attain your Multi-Engine Class Rating (MEA). The MEA will enable you to operate larger multi-engine aeroplanes and act as the launch pad for the rest of your career flying larger aircraft. SFC deliver the MECIR syllabus using our state of the art full motion Redbird Simulators and the comfortable and capable Diamond DA42NG Twinstar –the preferred aircraft for many airline cadet programs around the world.

The Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MECIR) is a compulsory requirement for becoming an airline pilot.

Upon successful completion of this course, you'll:

  • Earn a living as a pilot (paid flying work)

  • Fly anywhere within Australia and the world

  • Be able to fly in cloud

  • Be able to fly at night

  • Be able to take off and land in low visibility

  • Be able to pilot aircraft with more than one engine

  • Be able to utilise complex navigational aids and avionics

  • Become part of a supportive and passionate community

  • Open up a world of career opportunities

Is this course right for me?

Calling all those who want an office in the sky! This course is for anyone who wants to do want they love (and get paid for it.)

I want to be a pilot.

I have always dreamed about becoming a pilot and want to make my dreams a reality. I have little to no flying experience.

I want to fly for the airlines.

I have one goal. I want to fly for the airlines. I am looking for a course that will prepare me for the title of 'Captain'.

I want a career change.

I feel unfulfilled and unmotivated in my current career. I am passionate about aviation and am looking for a career in a rapidly evolving and growing industry.

I want to fly for business.

I can commit to a full time study load.

"Great school! Passionate staff and a very inviting Clubhouse & College to be a part of. I have completed my CPL and MECIR with SFC and had a great experience with them throughout both courses, building my skills and taking on their wealth of knowledge."
